1060 Aluminum Circle

1060 aluminum circle provides similar characteristics to 1050 alloy, including strong heat transfer capability and high ductility. It is suitable for general pizza pan blanks, particularly where deep deformation is limited and a clean, uniform surface is required before coating.

3003 Aluminum Circle

3003 aluminum circle contains manganese, providing higher strength than 1xxx series aluminum while retaining good corrosion resistance and forming characteristics. This alloy is frequently used for pizza pans that require improved rigidity, repeated-use durability, or more demanding drawing operations. A 3003 aluminum circle is often a practical choice for commercial bakeware producers.

Manufacturing Process in Our Factory

We control aluminum circle production through an integrated process that begins with qualified aluminum coil. The coil is inspected for alloy composition, thickness consistency, surface condition, and mechanical properties before entering the blanking line.

First, the aluminum coil is slit when required to match the selected disc diameter and blanking layout. It is then fed into high-precision circle cutting equipment. Depending on the material grade, thickness, and order volume, we use press blanking or other controlled cutting methods to obtain accurate pizza pan blanks.

After blanking, the aluminum circles are checked for diameter, thickness, flatness, edge burr, surface scratches, oil contamination, and shape deviation. For deep drawing aluminum circle orders, we pay close attention to material temper and grain consistency. These factors directly affect metal flow during pan forming and can help reduce cracking, wrinkling, or uneven wall thickness.

Where needed, we provide annealed O temper aluminum discs for customers producing deep pizza pans, raised-edge pans, and spun tray designs. For flatter pizza trays or designs requiring higher stiffness, harder tempers can be supplied after technical confirmation.

Application

Surface Quality Requirements for Pizza Pan Production

The surface of an aluminum circle for pizza pan should be suitable for the customer's downstream process. A pan blank may be left as mill finish, mechanically polished, anodized, painted, or coated with a food-contact non-stick system. Therefore, the incoming disc surface must be clean and consistent.

Our routine visual inspection controls common defects such as rolling marks, scratches, stains, dents, edge damage, and excessive oil residue. We can use paper interleaving between discs to reduce friction during handling and shipment. For customers with coating lines, we can also discuss surface expectations in advance, including whether a standard mill finish or a more controlled coating-ready surface is required.

For visually sensitive finished products, we recommend confirming acceptable surface levels with reference samples. This is especially important when the pizza pan will receive clear anodizing, bright finishing, or thin decorative coatings that may reveal underlying surface variation.

Selecting Thickness and Temper for Pizza Pans

Thickness selection should be based on pan diameter, profile depth, intended load, heating method, and final product positioning. Smaller household pizza pans may use thinner aluminum discs, while larger commercial pans often require increased thickness for rigidity and resistance to distortion during repeated heating cycles.

A thin disc can reduce material cost and heat rapidly, but it may be more susceptible to deformation if the pan is large or heavily loaded. A thicker pizza pan blank generally improves structural stability, although it increases weight and forming force requirements. Our technical team can recommend a workable thickness range after reviewing the pan drawing, edge design, perforation pattern, and forming process.

Temper is equally important. O temper is usually preferred for deep drawing, spinning, and complex rim shaping because of its high ductility. H14 or similar strain-hardened tempers can be appropriate for shallow formed pizza pans that require greater stiffness. The final choice should balance formability with in-service strength.

Perforated and Specialized Pizza Pan Applications

Many commercial pizza pans include perforations to promote airflow and support a crisp crust. For these products, the aluminum circle must maintain sufficient strength after hole punching. Hole diameter, pitch, open area, and the distance from the pan edge should be considered together with alloy and thickness.

We can supply round aluminum blanks for perforated pizza pan production before or after specific pre-processing arrangements, depending on the order requirement. Customers may also source standard discs from our Hot Rolled Aluminum Circle range when their pan design requires enhanced consistency for more demanding forming operations.

Other specialized applications include hard-anodized pizza pans, coated baking pans, wide-rim serving trays, deep dish pizza pans, and pizza screens. Each application has different requirements for alloy, temper, surface preparation, and blank geometry.

Quality Control and Export Packaging

Our quality control process includes incoming coil verification, in-process dimensional checks, surface inspection, and final packing review. We maintain traceability by production batch so that key material information can be matched to customer orders. Inspection records can be provided according to agreed documentation requirements.

For export shipments, aluminum circles are normally packed on strong wooden or fumigated pallets. Discs are protected with interleaving paper, moisture-resistant wrapping, edge protection, and reinforced outer packing as needed. Packaging is designed to reduce movement, oxidation risk, and surface abrasion during sea, rail, or road transportation.
