As an aluminum circle disc manufacturer, we produce heat resistant aluminum circle discs for the forming of BBQ grill pans, flat griddles, roasting trays, outdoor cookware, and related cooking vessels. Our 1050, 3003, and 5052 aluminum circle discs are supplied in diameters from 280 mm to 500 mm and are processed to support deep drawing, spinning, stamping, and surface finishing operations.

BBQ grill pans are exposed to repeated heating and cooling cycles, direct flame environments, food-contact coatings, and mechanical stress during forming. For this reason, cookware manufacturers need aluminum discs with controlled chemical composition, reliable temper, uniform thickness, clean surfaces, and consistent grain structure. We manufacture aluminum discs for cookware with these production requirements in mind, helping customers obtain stable performance from blanking through final pan assembly.

Material Selection for BBQ Grill Pan Production

The correct alloy depends on grill pan geometry, forming depth, wall thickness, intended cooking temperature, coating system, and the required balance between thermal conductivity and mechanical strength. We provide 1050, 3003, and 5052 aluminum circle discs according to the processing route of each customer.

1050 Aluminum Circle Discs

1050 aluminum circle is a commercially pure aluminum product with high aluminum content, excellent thermal conductivity, and good workability. It is widely used for shallow BBQ pans, pressed griddles, lids, and cookware parts where fast and even heat transfer is the principal requirement.

For cookware manufacturers using deep drawing or spinning operations, 1050-O aluminum circle discs provide high ductility and low forming resistance. The material can be shaped efficiently with suitable lubrication and die design. Its clean surface also supports non-stick coating, anodizing, painting, and other decorative or protective treatments.

3003 Aluminum Circle Discs

3003 aluminum circle disc contains manganese, giving it higher strength than 1050 while preserving good formability and corrosion resistance. It is a practical choice for medium-duty BBQ grill pans, deeper pans, and cookware requiring improved resistance to deformation during production and regular use.

Our 3003 aluminum circle discs are commonly selected for drawn cookware bodies because they provide a balanced combination of strength, thermal performance, and stable processing behavior. The alloy is suitable for non-stick coated BBQ pans and can be supplied in O, H12, H14, and other specified tempers.

5052 Aluminum Circle Discs

5052 aluminum circle disc is a magnesium-containing alloy with higher strength and very good corrosion resistance. It is appropriate for BBQ grill pan applications that require increased structural rigidity, including thicker pans, outdoor cookware, and products used in humid or coastal environments.

Compared with 1050 and 3003, 5052 requires more attention to forming conditions because of its higher strength. We control the temper, thickness tolerance, and blank edge quality to help customers reduce cracking, wrinkling, and uneven deformation during pressing or spinning. For products requiring durability and good resistance to repeated thermal service, 5052 aluminum discs offer a dependable material option.

Why Heat Resistance Requires More Than Alloy Choice

In BBQ cookware, heat resistance should be evaluated as a complete material and manufacturing property rather than as a single alloy designation. Aluminum conducts heat efficiently, allowing a grill pan to heat quickly and distribute heat across the cooking surface. However, grill pans also require sufficient dimensional stability after repeated heating, cooling, washing, and mechanical handling.

Our manufacturing process addresses the factors that affect in-service consistency:

  • Controlled alloy chemistry to maintain predictable mechanical properties.

  • Uniform thickness across each aluminum circle disc.

  • Stable temper selection based on the required drawing depth and final pan rigidity.

  • Fine and consistent grain structure for smoother forming.

  • Burr-controlled edges to reduce damage to tools and improve production safety.

  • Clean surfaces suitable for non-stick coating adhesion and decorative finishing.

For direct-flame BBQ grill pan production, the finished cookware design remains important. Pan thickness, rib structure, bottom profile, handle assembly, coating type, and use conditions all influence actual temperature performance. We work from the raw material stage to provide a disc specification compatible with the intended product structure.

Application

Manufacturing Process for Aluminum Circle Discs

Our factory controls each main stage of aluminum circle disc production to ensure consistency between batches. We begin with qualified aluminum coil or sheet in the requested alloy and temper. Material is inspected before entering slitting and blanking operations.

The coil is then processed through precision blanking equipment to produce the required disc diameter. For 280-500 mm aluminum circle discs, we select tooling and production parameters according to thickness, alloy strength, and edge-quality requirements. Larger-diameter circles used for grill pans must remain flat and round to support stable automated pressing and spinning.

After blanking, we inspect diameter, thickness, surface condition, flatness, edge quality, and packing condition. When required, discs may be supplied with paper interleaving to prevent friction marks during transport and handling. We can also arrange customized packaging quantities for automated cookware production lines.

For customers requiring enhanced drawability, our Hot Rolled Aluminum Circle options can provide a suitable starting material for demanding cookware forming processes. We also supply Aluminum Circles for Cookware in customized diameters, thicknesses, and tempers for broader kitchenware applications.

Forming Performance for Pressed and Spun Grill Pans

Formability is a critical consideration when selecting aluminum discs for BBQ grill pans. A disc that appears acceptable in basic inspection may still create defects during high-speed production if the temper, grain structure, or surface condition is not suitable for the tooling process.

For deep drawn grill pans, O temper aluminum circle discs are generally preferred because of their high elongation and soft condition. They can accommodate deeper walls and more complex contours. For shallow pressed pans or pans requiring increased rigidity, H14 or other half-hard tempers may be appropriate, depending on alloy and thickness.

Spinning operations often benefit from discs with excellent concentricity, consistent thickness, and low surface contamination. Our quality control team verifies these attributes before shipment. For 5052 aluminum circle disc orders, we additionally review the product design and forming ratio with customers when necessary, as this stronger alloy may require adjusted tooling or a more suitable temper.

Surface Quality for Non-Stick Coating and Finishing

BBQ grill pans are often finished with PTFE, ceramic, hard anodized, painted, or other coating systems. The aluminum substrate must therefore have a clean and stable surface. Oil residues, rolling marks, excessive scratches, oxide contamination, or edge burrs can affect coating appearance and adhesion.

We manufacture aluminum circle discs with surface standards tailored to cookware production. For coating-ready products, we control handling and packing to minimize scratches and contamination. Customers can specify surface grade, allowable defect criteria, protective paper, and packaging method during order confirmation.

For grill pans with visible exterior finishes, a uniform mill surface is especially important. Where decorative processing is required, we can discuss material suitability for brushing, polishing, anodizing, or color coating before production.

Quality Control and Export Packaging

Every shipment is checked against the approved specification. Our inspection process includes alloy verification documentation, dimensional measurement, visual surface inspection, edge inspection, and packaging review. We retain production records for batch traceability and can provide mill test certificates upon request.

Export packaging is designed to protect aluminum discs from moisture, impact, and surface abrasion. Standard packing includes paper separation where required, plastic moisture protection, reinforced pallets, and secure outer wrapping. For container shipments, pallet dimensions and loading methods are planned to maximize stability and reduce transport-related damage.
